I have a pretty nascent website that overtime will eventually be something that will add real value in the world. Corny, right? Well, it is definitely possible!

I have recently been trying to come up with ideas. Many of them are not bad. But the issue is that I don’t have enough willpower to complete them.

So…I realized that this thing that I would shove in my pocket, that I would maybe use once every three shoves, could be useful. What is that thing?

A pack of gum.

No, it’s obviously sticky notes.

See, the thing with sticky notes is that they are super convenient and practical. Once you personally tailor them to your liking, they become undeniably useful.

Why are sticky notes so useful?

Ultimately, sticky notes are a way to make you solve problems. They help you juggle infinitely more information than you would have if not for them.

What problems can they solve?

Most, I think? That’s too broad of a question to pinpoint any solutions.

Well, how could I implement sticky notes right now, or at least after reading this article?

Well, you could write down each question from this article on a separate sticky note. Then, write any related answers or notes you have on each sticky note. By the end of this article, you will have had a few questions written down with every key thing said there in your hand. This gives you plenty of time to think about what you just read and thought about. No more worrying about those tip-of-my-tongue moments! At least for this article…

How are sticky notes used in a more practical sense, like for school, my personal life, or even creativity?

In terms of personal life, the use and customization of sticky notes has been proven to be endless. The same goes for school and creativity. However, if you can understand their use in your personal life, the school and creativity uses come naturally. They will make more sense and will be more easy to adapt to.

Awesome! Do you have some ideas on where I can start? And what do I even write? It’s starting to feel a little overwhelming given the endless possibilities.

Well, for starters, put it on your electronic device! Well, preferably a tablet or computer, but phones work too!

Have you ever gotten sidetracked whilst using a computer? If you’ve used a computer to do important work with a deadline, you most definitely have. With sheer willpower, the distraction can be managed, but not always.

To make sure that it can, use a sticky note. Any time you want to look up a key figure in history or that song you don’t want to forget, write it down on a sticky note. When you want to look up a definition up or a celebrity’s relationship status, write it down on a sticky note. If the list gets too long, there are solutions for that as well.

This person is frustrated.

That’s a good point. What if I want to remember to do A LOT of things after I study or work? Do I have to write ALL of them? Wouldn’t that be redundant? What kinda superpower is this?! This practical thing seems pretty impractical to me!

Well, now this is too many questions so I’ll conclude by answering each of them.

Yes, you could write everything you want to do in great detail on sticky notes. You could write every single thing you need to bring to and back from a month-long trip if you wanted to. But, if you couldn’t guess, that’s pretty stressful to try and do all that. And that list will probably have you using up a whole day just for writing down on a pack of them.

That’s because I never supposed that sticky notes were the cure-all for all our stressors or even personal problems.

If that were the case, sticky notes would be on burst pipes (no need for Flex-Seal), on dirty dishes, cracked iPhones, or just flying high in the sky, catching the carbon dioxide and converting it into oxygen.

What I do know is that sticky notes have made me realize that I’ve been moving too fast. I have been trying to keep up with the pace of globalization and the combatting of mass atrocities. I have been trying to “make it make sense” for why things are unfair. I have been trying to figure out my place in the world, how I fit in this puzzling world.

And although the answer to all the above is definitely not to write myself to “victory”, it sure is a good start.

Oftentimes, I find myself looking down to write on a sticky note more than I am paying attention to what I’m writing about. That’s about the best indicator that whatever I’m doing with my sticky notes is not going to be helpful.

So, next time you see a sticky note, just use it. Why not? they’re pretty cheap.
